ShmooCon has always been about bringing together a fantastic community of the greatest people out there. From skill-cranes to multipass-badges, your contributions go a long way in making this little con of ours incredible and this year, we're handing Hack-or-Halo over to you too!
For those not in the know, Hack-or-Halo is a ShmooCon exclusive, the very best hacking-plus-gaming competition in the world. Over the years we've served up scores of puzzles and hundreds of Halo headshots. We've also given away piles of prizes, from Xboxes to Slingboxes. And this year will be no different. Expect puzzles ranging from super-simple to Chris-Eagle-hard. And expect to see Halo free-for-all brackets with plenty of headshots, sticky grenades, and the kind of virtual violence that we're known for. All the things you know and love about HoH will back this year, but we've also got one big difference...
This year the talented HoH staff won't be the only folks building the puzzles to entertain the curious masses on Saturday night. That's right, you're welcome to help, too. Always thought we should have more XSS oriented puzzles? Got a great idea for a social-engineering puzzle? Just want to do something silly and fun? Well, now's your chance to step up! Build us a puzzle, and you'll automatically get bonus points when you sit down to play Hack this year. And this year, there'll be a prize for best puzzle, as determined by the players and the staff.
