There are no differences in tickets. Each ticket gets you in to ShmooCon with no difference in access, viewpoint, or perceived value to the person approving your expense report. This sales model originated from a "pay what you can" idea as we struggled to set our budget in the early ShmooCon years. No matter what you pay, we feel you're getting a great con at a great price. We hope after attending you'll feel that way too.
It should be noted that historically ticket sales happen very quickly, especially in round 3. You may have gathered that since we've provided the time the tickets go on sale, not just the date. We recommended setting an alarm now to remind yourself to purchase your tickets.
Purchase Process
When ticket sales start, you'll go to a page where you will be asked for your email address and the number and type of tickets you want. You can only reserve up to 2 tickets total from that page. 1 is OK, 3 is right out.
While we've tried to streamline things quite a bit, there still may be a situation where when you load the page lower priced tickets are available, but when you click "reserve" those tickets may be gone. Again, we've done our best to try and limit that, but with the amount of concurrent connections we get, it may still happen to a few people.
Once you complete that page, you will be given a code. Please COPY AND SAVE this code. In the interest of reducing the load on the server, we will not be emailing the reservation code to you. After you have COPIED AND SAVED your code, go take a break. You can't do anything else with it. At 1pm EST, we'll open up the purchase page. Come back after 1pm, enter your COPIED AND SAVED code and you'll be able to complete your purchase.
NOTE: You will only have 24 hours to redeem your code. If you snooze, you lose.
International Customers
While we can process international credit card orders, it can be a real pain to get it to go through on our form. Once you have your reservation code, don't bother trying to pay through the website. Please contact info@shmoocon.org and we'll provide instructions on completing your transaction.
Barcodes
Once you purchase your ticket you will receive a receipt via email. This email also contains a barcode. There will be many barcodes, but the one we send you is your own. Your barcode is your best friend. Without it, you cannot get into the con. Without the con, your barcode is useless. (Also each barcode can only be used once, so if you share it the first one in the door wins.)
If you have a transaction ID and would like to re-print your barcodes, visit our Barcode Generator.

If you need a receipt for company purposes you can generate one here.
Cancellation Policy
Firstly, just because you bought a ticket does not mean you're entitled to a refund.
If you bought a ticket and now you can't make it to the con, give or sell your ticket to a friend. We don't care (of course we'd rather have you attend but we understand). Don't have any friends? Contact us and we may be able to lend you a friend for a day. (In other words, we may be able to work out a ticket exchange for you.) If you're still stuck in a bind and have a VERY good excuse, email us and we'll try to work something out for you.
Absolutely no fees will be refunded after January 1, 2010.
