In keeping with our time travel theme, we’re bringing the ShmooCon Book Swap to 2024! Books are, after all, a bridge from the past to the future.
We’ll be accepting books published within the past 5-7 years as long as they’re still relevant to the security industry. We’ll also accept security-adjacent books, coding books, and textbooks as long as they’re applicable to modern cloud environments. We know you love your Perl and Cobol books so we encourage you to hang on to those!
More details to come, but here’s the basic idea:
Drop off a book or two to swap or donate at the Book Swap table in the Chill Out Room on Friday and receive a token. Swing by the booth Saturday to “shop” for another book with your token. Students will have first crack to swap their books Saturday, then the booth will open for all.
We’re really excited about the opportunity to share some knowledge, swap some books, and save the environment a little bit, too. Any books not claimed or swapped by Sunday at noon will be distributed or donated by ShmooCon.
We’re looking forward to seeing you in January, so check your bookshelves and remember to toss a book in your backpack to swap!
